Community Highlight: Monroe Estates

This week’s community highlight features Monroe Estates, located in Monroe, WI. The city of Monroe is an up-and-coming place perfect for families. Surrounding the cities of Beloit and Janesville, Monroe is a gem of southcentral Wisconsin. Dozens of parks and trails scatter the land nearby, filled with natural beauty and recreational opportunities. Most notably, the Badger State Trail. This old rail trail runs about 40 miles along the Wisconsin/Illinois border and is open to cyclists and pedestrians only. The Cheese County Trail is another local trail that allows winter sports enthusiasts to snowmobile and ATV throughout the winter months. The name comes from the fact that Monroe is home to the National Historic Cheesemaking Center, as well as other cheese cooperatives and a cheese factory. If you are a cheese connoisseur, Monroe is a perfect spot for you! The local brewery, Minhas Craft Distillery, is another popular spot for enjoying a beverage. If you have kids, the town has a community pool as well as a skate park nearby for them to enjoy. The community of Monroe Estates itself allows residents to live a peaceful lifestyle right outside of the main city area. Pets are allowed and off-street parking is available. Lighted streets line the community and make it a welcoming addition to the community.
