  • Find more time to “unplug”: Our electronic devices can be one of the largest contributors to stress in our lives. If you find yourself using your devices a large amount of your time away from home, when you return home consider putting them off to the side and participating in a more enriching activity.  
  • Create a room simply meant for relaxing: If you have a spare room in your home, consider creating your very own relaxation room. This may seem a bit strange, but when you actually need to use it, it can be a real lifesaver.  Keep the room minimalistic; fill it with only things that bring you peace. could also consider painting it a neutral color, as these have been proven to promote relaxation.
  • Experiment with essential oils: Using essential oils in your home can be a great way to keep yourself from stressing. Scents like basil, anise, and chamomile have been proven to reduce tension and allow for mental clarity.
  • Try daily planning: Often times, stress can be caused by feeling anxious or uncertain. If you are worried about tasks or events that are coming in the near future, consider planning in advance. This task can be useful for both home and outside life.
  • Lighting is important: Natural daylight or the sight of the sun can be an easy cure to lift one’s spirit and reduce stress. If you find your home feeling dark or flooded with artificial light, consider keeping your shades or curtains pulled up as much as possible. It can be a great way to feel energized and rejuvenated.
