The surfaces of many of the small appliances in your home are susceptible to staining over time and through day-to-day life. Today, we are going to share a few easy ways to beat stubborn staining on your appliances, broken down by type.
- Coffee Maker: No matter what type of coffee machine you own, it should be regularly cleaned to avoid any buildup of bacteria.
- Any removable parts of your machine should be removed and cleaned after EACH use.
- You can clean these with hot, soapy water and they can be air-dried.
- Empty your water reservoirs and wipe down any drip surfaces with a clean cloth. Leave lids off so that these surfaces can dry properly.
- When all parts have dried, you may reassemble your machine.
- Your Microwave: Splatters and stains in your microwave are unavoidable. Did you know that you can clean your microwave by letting it do all the work?
- Fill a microwave-safe bowl with water and microwave it until it is at a low boil.
- Keep the door closed for at least 15 minutes to allow the steam from the bowl to loosen any stubborn stains.
- Finally, wipe down the interior of your microwave with a soft cloth and hand wash the turntable.
- Toaster or Toaster Oven: Cleaning out your toaster is imperative to keeping you and your family safe in the kitchen. Build-up can cause fires, if not frequently removed.
- After each use, be sure to unplug and shake the unit over a trash can to remove any loose particles.
- Once per week, use a cloth and soapy water to wipe down both the interior and exterior of your toaster, avoiding the heating elements. IMPORTANT! Allow proper drying time before using again.
- Blender: Any type of blender or juicer can be a nightmare to get clean, due to stubborn residue.
- After you use this appliance, rinse out all parts with plain water.
- Fill with warm water and a few drops of dish soap and swirl for about 15-30 seconds to allow all appliance parts to get clean. IMPORTANT! Allow proper drying time before using again.
